I created this website after having taught an introductory course in digital photography and Adobe Photoshop for three years at Henley's Photography in Bakersfield. During that time, I have instructed over 1,000 students in the use of their digital camera and post-production software.

My philosophy is that modern digital photography is a five-step process; preparing for the shot by carefully considering what the photograph is intended to communicate, planning design elements and composition, applying technical skill to accomplish the intended design, making minimal adjustments to black and white points, saturation, contrast and sharpening using the best features of post-production software and, lastly, finalizing the photograph as a print or through various digital media such as the Internet or electronic publication.

This is what I teach.
